Water portfolio management

Tandou can manage your water portfolio to optimise performance of the asset and ensure your portfolio goals are being met.

This enables you to utilise our experience and market knowledge to your advantage. We will assess, plan, execute and review your water portfolio as part of our larger asset management program.

Entitlement lease

Tandou has the ability to lease irrigators’ water entitlements, effectively ‘financing’ up to 100% of the irrigator’s entitlement should the water not be needed for a season.

Tandou will purchase the entitlement and its lease from the irrigator at current market rates. An option for the irrigator to buy back the lease at an agreed price can be included in the lease agreement and the lessee takes the allocation risk.

Allocation lease

Tandou offers irrigators the ability to secure water allocations up to three years in advance. This provides lessees with confidence in the volume of water they will have access to in the future, effectively mitigating the need for irrigators to take allocation risk.

Allocation parking

For a small fee per megalitre (ML), irrigators can lock in water allocation prices with Tandou in advance. Parking this water with Tandou takes the risk out of the volatile water market prices, enabling more effective forward business planning.
