Tandou is a major Australian agribusiness focussed on the large scale irrigated production of cereal crops and cotton. Our strategy includes applying our significant expertise to invest in land and water to establish a business with diversity across regions, commodities and water systems.

At Tandou, we also make our expertise and accumulated knowledge available to others through agribusiness management services which allow us to assist in improving the productivity and sustainability of our customer’s enterprises while further diversifying our business and the security of returns to our investors.

Our history

Tandou was founded by Mr Bob Smith and Mr Ian Taylor in 1972 and operated primarily as a pastoral property. Mr Smith and Mr Taylor soon realised the potential that the unique location, climate and topography offered. By 1987, Tandou was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and producing high value annual and permanent crops with irrigation.

Since this time, we have continued to develop and diversify our business. In addition to high yielding cereal, oilseed and cotton crops,  sheep meat from our pastorally run Dorper flock and offer agribusiness management advice.
